NuEra® Treatment

NuEra® is a non-invasive radiofrequency platform used for skin tightening, body contouring, cellulite reduction, and improvement in wrinkles and skin laxity.

Lumenis describes NuEra® Tight with FocalRF® technology as a personalized RF body sculpting treatment that can address fat reduction, skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and cellulite reduction, with no downtime.

The platform is designed to adapt energy delivery to different treatment depths and body areas.

The central principle of NuEra® is controlled radiofrequency heating at selected tissue depths. Lumenis states that FocalRF® technology uses multiple RF frequencies to tailor energy penetration based on the indication, tissue thickness, and treatment area. For skin tightening, the technology is intended to elevate and regulate tissue temperature within the dermis to stimulate collagen remodeling and improve sagging skin.

For cellulite and contouring protocols, the platform combines frequency selection with treatment modes and mechanical massage effects to target connective tissue changes and improve the appearance of dimpling. The system also includes NuAPIC temperature control, described by Lumenis as automatic personalized temperature control to maintain therapeutic temperature during treatment.

NuEra® may be considered in patients with mild to moderate skin laxity, reduced firmness, cellulite, localized contour irregularities, and selected areas of subcutaneous fullness where a non-invasive approach is preferred.

Lumenis also positions the platform for wrinkle reduction and treatment of both body and smaller facial areas.

Treatment is performed with an external handpiece placed on the skin. The practitioner selects the treatment area, electrode, frequency, temperature, and time parameters according to the clinical goal.

Energy is delivered while the handpiece is moved continuously, with real-time temperature monitoring helping maintain consistent heating. Lumenis emphasizes that the procedure is non-invasive and designed to be comfortable, describing the experience as similar to a hot stone massage. Session length varies depending on the treatment zone.

Potential benefits include firmer skin, improved elasticity, smoother texture, reduction in the visible appearance of cellulite, and better contour definition in selected areas. Because the treatment is non-invasive, it is commonly chosen by patients seeking gradual improvement without surgery or downtime.

Lumenis also emphasizes personalization of treatment depth as a factor in achieving more natural-looking and longer-lasting results.

Before and After Care

Before treatment, the area should be examined for contraindications such as active inflammation, open lesions, or significant irritation. The skin should be clean and free of oils, creams, or occlusive products on the day of treatment.

The consultation should include review of prior body-contouring procedures, implants in the treatment area, relevant medical conditions, and realistic expectations regarding the degree and pace of improvement.

Most patients resume routine activities immediately. Mild warmth or transient redness may occur and generally resolves quickly.

Hydration, gentle skincare, and avoidance of excessive heat exposure on the same day are usually recommended. If facial areas are treated, daily sun protection is advised.

Risks and Side Effects

NuEra® is generally positioned as a low-downtime procedure, but temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, or mild swelling can occur.

Inadequate parameter selection or poor candidacy may reduce efficacy or increase the likelihood of irritation. Medical supervision remains important to ensure correct indication and safe energy delivery.

A prior consultation is required to determine whether the primary concern is laxity, contour, cellulite, wrinkles, or a combination of these issues, and to build an appropriate treatment course.

The number of sessions depends on indication and treatment area. Pricing is determined after consultation.
